Well I hit Choke yesterday and took a beating on the lake and the wallet. I am not sure where but I think I got hit at the Mason point ramp. I started at Mason then the wind came up and instead of boating up the river I decided to trailer the boat to the 99 ramp.
Anyway I am a contractor and own my small business. I had a few shovels and rakes in the back of my truck and tool box. Once I decided to call it a day I loaded the boat on the trailer and notice a side bunk was loose on the trailer and decided to do a quick fix. I went to my tool box and notice I had been relieved of my tools.
Anyway I should have known to lock up my tools so it is my own fault for being so trusting out in the country. I mean who would have thought someone needed a shovel and rake so bad they needed to steal them. What, do you have a get your garden going so freaking bad you need to steal a rake dude? Not to mention you must have one hell of a weed problem to take 500 yards of weed eater string.
Anyway I am out about $100 dollars. Do you morons really want to die for a freaking hedge trimmer? Dudes, I have nothing better to do right now on a rainy day than load my truck full of equipment and head back to the ramp and launch the boat, beach it and wait for you to show up again. When I do catch you I am going to feed you to that 14 foot gator that lives on Mason. It would be my pleasure to watch him death roll you little punks. I am just saying.
God help you if I catch you because I am 911 and I am preforming Texas justice on your butts.
You guys keep an eye out for your equipment when your at choke. I mean we pay $4 a person to the great state of Texas to use those ramps. Seems to me the parks and wildlife could at least put up a camera out there to protect our stuff. I am just saying cause I am pissed off.

You were a target of opportunity. They weren't looking for shovels, rakes, etc., they were looking for ANYTHING that was available.
If you had left your cell phone, briefcase, CDs, etc. on your seat, that stuff would be gone too.

If this doesn't stop, a fisherman will have to go to the lake, unload his boat and have his wife, friend, etc. take the rig home and come get him when he is done. I think if you brought back public hanging, this %^&%$ would stop in a minute.

They need to start setting up bait boats and bait cars at busy boat ramps. It seems like the police can't really do anything unless they catch someone in act. They don't know how to investigate they know how to chase people down.

No fish but I did have a couple really good bumps on a jig. Matter of fact I have not had a jig hit that hard in a long time. They hit it hard and spit it out faster than I could set the hook. I was fishing very shallow and am thinking that was a bedding bass bite but who knows. Water temp was 59 the other day but 55 yesterday. The water was very muddy too. Give it another few weeks and some warm weather and the fishing should really turn on.

Thanks. I was there about a week ago, tried to go up river, but it was way too muddy. I also had a few bumps up shallow, with no fish hooked. These were on a spinnerbait, trying to get a reaction strike. The water then was right at 60 degrees. Is the muddy water coming from San Miguel, or from the Frio river itself? Of course, todays rains will have it all boogered up everywhere. We have had three inches in Cotulla. Guess I'll head for Falcon this weekend. Anybody else going? I could use an experienced Falcon partner, and I will have an empty back seat. Saturday, Sunday, or both...

Did you really expect the McMullen County S.O. to be there ? They barely have any officers much less being everywhere all the time. DPS avoids that county, the game wardens are around , but again, only two of them for the whole county and McMullen is a big area. Constable same way, only one person. Gotta protect yourself.
