so......... Use red line because it disappears. Use red hooks because the make a difference in shallow water, after 15' or so, they too disappear. but I should change the front hooks on my crankbaits, no specifications here, so that I will get better hook-ups with my semi-disappearing hooks. And green is the new red if I'm in 20' of water..... Do I have it straight?

Whatever color a bass sees as red (representing blood) is the same color to the bass regardless of the depth..E.G. The color of a red hook at 20ft is the same color(shade) as blood on a injured shad at 20ft.. Finally, someone else understands! From diving, blood does have a distinct color whether you are at 10ft or 110 ft. I have seen blood at both and yes there is a difference, but there is a distinct color to it. At about 20 ish ft, blood actually looks green. So shouldn't we be using green hooks? I have no problem believing the red hook fad works for some people...but what kind of bait fish bleed? I've filleted a few fish and they hardly have any blood. Take a tiny shad, he can't have much...and on top of that its in the water...blood would dissipate rather quickly. Red...maybe, blood...nah.

I use red most of the time. I don't know that it helps, but I'll take any help I can get. No one has said that red hooks hurt your chances.
