I just did one with wood. I didnt like the idea of seacast not getting in the corners good. I know this wood transom is going to be there no matter what. And it was nowhere near thousands. Not even $500

Thats not bad, no wonder you only got 2 gallons. Do it from the top,the hardest part is getting the wood out. Are you going to use a chain saw?

Forget that [censored] i told you about bracing it, i don't think you will need it. You should be done in no time.

I hope so.

Yeah, I'll be using a chainsaw.

Took the top off today. I knew the wood was going, but I didn't know it was GONE! I won't even need a drill or chainsaw, just a scoop. The wood that was removed in the picture was done by my finger.

Now I just have to figure out how to get the tie down anchors, and the whatever you call them....drain tubes i guess, off. Seems someone didn't ever want them to be removed.

Will be watching for updates, don't forget you need a lot warmer temperatures for the curing to take place. Will be doing the same thing this spring or summer.

It really does not need to be warm for curing to take place and it is sometimes easier if it is a little cooler as curing taking place slower and allows more working time with the products.

Here's a good deal on some seacast for those interested, even with shipping cost added.

Seacast for sale

There is a shelf life on this stuff so i would check into that. Looks to be about 10 gallons.

Hopefully the cold doesn't mess with it to much. I picked kind of a bad week to do this. I'll probably wait til Saturday to pour since that's the warmest day in the forecast. Then I'll probably use heat lamps to help.

HAHA! No I decided to take my time. I normally rush through things, but this something you have to get right the first time.

I got about half way down the transom with just a shop vac. Now I'm using a drill with a 16" bit to break it up and shovel towards the top to be vacumed. I'm having hard time reaching the wood chips now because my hose doesn't fit between the glass. I need to find a way to taper the hose down to about an inch.

Duct Tape and PVC worked for me.

Well I now have two bags of marine grade mulch. I did use some 3/4" pvc to get in there. It turned out to be a great tool for gouging the wood while vacuming. It probably wouldn't have worked that way if there was any dry wood, but there wasn't a dry fiber of wood in there. In fact there was some standing water. I honestly can't believe my motor stayed attached to that boat, or at least caved in the glass. I will have to give it a few days just to dry out.
