I fished at Palos Verdes a few years ago after the pond was filled back up. We were using biscuit doe catching a ton of 8 inch mudcats. Caught on 14 inch channel cat and one crappie on the biscuit doe believe it or not. Got tired of that so put on a one foot diving crankbait and casted right beside the pier. Caught a 4 and a half pound largemouth. I posted the picture of it on this website a few years back when I caught it.

Those golf course ponds sounds very interesting. Is it worth taking the risk to fish these? I know you say the fishing is great, but can you get in trouble for trespassing?

1. The Duck Creek drive pond... If its the one you can see from the road it doesn't look but a few feet deep and I would almost bet it dried up a couple years ago in the drought.

2. Palos Verdes.... Full of mudcats and small perch. I did hook something on a minnow a couple years ago underneath the dock that stripped drag for about 5 seconds and then snapped the line.

the most they do is tell u to leave. but for me i never listen so the marshalls gave me the ok and dont bother me anymore. yes its worth it especially in the spawn and after with a white spinner bait or a shad fluke. there are alot of shad in there even a foot long so the bass are very big.
