I fished a tournament last year and my partner had a ym and I had 5 different popr's. I had nothing and he had multiple fish. He tossed me a ym and it was over. We won the tournament on the ym. Never through anything different again.

It'll catch fish. I just don't believe it will outfish another.

When the water temp is 58 degree's or higher. Low Light Early and Late, Cloudy Day or Shady area's. I would highly recommend throwing it and sticking with it. Works really well against retaining walls.

silverskeeter is right, the splash-it is every bit as good a bait, about the same price. Don Iovino has been building and pouring baits for many, many years. One of the best fishermen ever, and as good a guy as there ever was.

Great Post and a Great Bait. Not sure there is a bad color, although the baby bass #010 has been great. I am interested in giving some other colors a chance to knock 010 from top of list.Make sure to replace hooks before you get started, because you will get an explosion, and will be upset with original hooks if you don't change them. The only thing close to the excitement from the explosions created while fishing the Yellow Magic is the slamming of rod tip/barrel created when lifting a jig/crawl from stump when big momma dont wanna let you take it. It's February tomorrow and its hog time!!!

Throw down your Man Card and go buy one!

#03 is the one I use the most but they will all get bit. You should know there is no magic bullet. Tie one on towards the tail end of the spawn and throw it around the shallow spawning areas. The Yellow Magic is deadly around scattered grass after the spawn.

It is my go to topwater plug all through the summer starting off at daybreak around grassbeds. It will also get slammed in the fall when the fish are chasing shad in deep open water too. Around schooling fish I will keep one tied on and ready to throw. The larger size works better for me in this case plus I can throw it farther.

Good luck!
