I did a forum search here and can't find any info on this lake at all. Anyone fish this lake regularly? What's the bass population like? Thanks in advance.

Great lake! its 650 acres with LOTS of grass and lilly pads. I have never fished it in the winter but spring and summer are good. I cant remeber the name of the owner of Crucial Tackle but he is on this forum a lot and i think he does a fishing report on Bonham, Crockett and Coffee Mill in one of the local papers.

Are you talking about Lake Raven? I did not think the grass came back since they killed it a few years ago if it is back should be some good fish this yaer.

Crockett is a very good lake, and the bass population is booming! There is a LOT of grass/vegataion but very little timber, the dam has the only rip rap on the lake. Lake coffey mill is one mile west of crocket and has alot more timber, but is fished alot more! I have not fished either lakes since Aug. but the potential to catch alot of fish is there. Being such a "smaller" lake, the water temp. will be a little higher than the larger lakes in north texas, it did snow for several hours last night so... Your right mp224 John from crucial tackle does a write up in the paper, but there hasnt been one on these local lakes in a few months. Feel free a contact me for a report because I know several people who fish there including myself!
Here is a pic of my wife from last summer on Crockett.

Last April, the snot moss was so bad, it was difficult to fish at all. Ended up spending the day on Coffee Mill. Love Crocket though.....sentimental reasons.

I forgot about this when I posted ealier. I was told that Guide Chuck Justice did a show a year or two ago on Davy Crockett but I didnt get to see it. His show is Trophy Bass Secrets, I am not sure if its still on the air or not.

Grant2, I think we are all talking about Lake Davy Crockett in North East Fannin County, or at least thats the one I'm talking about!! It is sorta between Bonham and Paris. Lake record was caught In 07 or 08, a 12 pounder.

I fished there this time last year.. caught about 15 on traps and spinner baits. Fun little lake. No bigguns for us but fun, nonetheless.

Super nice lake with a bunch of fish. If you like to fish grass then this is your lake. It also has a lot of reeds/cattails, but because of the snot moss it`s almost impossible to pitch a jig.

You can also check out Tommy Climers Day On The Water. This will give you a good feel of the lake.
