dependable engine, sized correctly for the boat. Do not get an underpowered rig or you will be one of those, looking for way to make it run better. very few stress cracks. --Make SURE to have a compression check done---and it's easy to do. If you do not have the experience to check the motor out take it too a mechanic to get it verified or you may get stuck. Several made mention of 36 volt t motors which is fine but a lot of boats do not have the room for 3 t batteries and 1 starting battery. There are a lot of boats out there and no need to get one trashed. Ken

"Here is what I would like in my boat:
Long casting deck
Lots of storage
Good looking of course hahaha
Nice riding and driving boat is probably the most important to me.
I also want something that is not goin to be falling apart like gauges and hangles falling off."

Those are the same things I wanted in a boat and that is why I bought a Champion. I have been using it lots for 7 years and it looks about as good as when I bought it new.

I like to have the motor looked at by a profesional. Make sure the boat is structurally sound. Older boats will likly have a lot of wood in its structure -- make sure there is no rot or water penatration in especially the stringers and transom. Rot can get to the point that the boat is useless and not worth repairing.

Also, sheck at the wiring. Trouble shooting electrical problems can be a nightmare.

Well, the 1978 Chaparral ski boat is big enough (and powerful enough) for 12 - 13 in the boat and a 300 lb 6'7 lady to be skiing behind...It's been in the family since it was new and is obviously paid for...

The 1992 Pontoon boat is 24' long and roomy enough for 12...Plus it has the full camping enclosure, live well and 24 volt trolling motor...And it's paid for.

The 1998 Glastron seats 10 comfortably and has a 302 V8...It's paid for...

I'd say the best part is they are paid for and the family can enjoy them...I'll be selling the pontoon boat soon in order to buy another boat easier for me to take out by myself...Besides, it gets lonely on that sucker...crying

My Bass Cat's service. Tommy Yett's and the guys at Rockwall Marine keep my boat in tip top shape, and being a smaller boat company, the service and support you get from Bass Cat themselves is unmatched.

Was fishing a couple of weeks ago, and got a call from Bass Cat parts, just to let me know that my parts order was coming in 2 shipments.

It's paid for and it floats. The fish don't seem to mind that it is ugly.
