paid for, never lets me down, I wish it was bigger and i wish the motor was a year newer so it wouldnt be carbed, But i love it, I think the thing i like most is those long days and nights working on it with my buddies and watching the boat transform from how i got it to how it is now.

I have an '02 Ranger 185 vs
Like everyone else said, the best thing about it is that its paid for.
But its also a great size for maneuverability and storage. I have been in some big water with it, and it has never failed me.
It has a 74lb trolling motor, which is plenty, but I do wish it was 36 volt.
Also wish I had a tandem axle for driving, but the single axle makes storing it easier.

I have a 20' Champion and the best part is that its paid for like others have said! Next best thing is that its the smoothest rideing boat I have ever been in!
The only thing I dont like about it is that its the 201 model so the beam is narrower than most boats, but thats part of the reason why they have the reputation of being one of the smoothest rideing boats ever built.

Buy a 20ft boat with a 225 on it ,so you will not out grow it This size boat has everything you want There are tons of great used boats at great prices on the market ,shop around the extra work will pay off ,don't jump on the first ok deal you see. Skeeter has everything you are looking for plus they are still in business, you can fish the Skeeter owners tournament and they are proven boats, there is not a lake in America that a 20 Skeeter can not handle ,and in style ...the most important is the hull and motor if you buy old enough you may have to replace the trolling motor just figure that in 36 volt of course

If you can afford a boat with warranty, thats a nice thing to have. Make sure the boat isnt underpowered. A boat with good electronics and trolling motor on it. Youll get a much better price on that equipment if its on the boat. Other than that, its personal preference with brand and size boat.

2009 Skeeter ZX250 w/250 Yamaha HPDI
Likes: Huge front deck that easily fishes 2 people. Tons of storage I don't think I could fill it up if I tried! Rod boxes hold rods bigger than you'll ever own or need! Seats are comfortable. Very stable fishing platform. Good ride in rough water. It obviously isn't as smooth as a Champion, but it does handle the bad stuff very well as long as you drive it right. I've been on Fork in 30mph winds with no problem. Fast for a 21' boat. I GPS'd at 73.2 with just me and my gear. With a tourney load and 2 people I hit 70.1 last weekend. Plenty fast! Skeeter isn't in bankruptcy court. No stress cracks.
Dislikes: Monthly payment
