Fishing Travis or other Colorado River lakes....

I found it best to fish lights that other lake home owners have in the water. I have not tried with lights I have put out...In several coves, in and around Lake Travis, there are WHITE HALOGEN lights near or on the water. Position your boat with trolling motor about 30 yards from the light(s)...Make sure the boat is in atleast 20' or more of water. LCD chart is not needed, but depth readout is...Start with casting white 1/4oz crank baits towards the light. Once two or three magnum whites, the fish scatter. Start fishing for the next 30 minutes, with medium minnows, right off the bottom. Also chunk minnows towards the light with one small split shot weight.....As much as I fish, I too get skunked. However, lately we have been catching alot of crappie and some whites. Not as many whites as in Feb.
With Lake LBJ, Inks, and Travis, these all have lighted boat docks. The problem is getting out on a nice evening and searching, mapping and trying out atleast two or three. More windy conditions seem to have better luck...IMO.

E-Mail me off line, if wanting additional answers..

FISHERMAN ED...Long time, no hear. Great to hear from you!
