All of the shad colored baits will get them. 2 1/32 oz jig heads under a pegged cork. Its a sand bass killer in shallow creeks. Don't be scared to twitch it pretty fast in peak run. I like 6lb line cause the flukes will sink a tad slower.

We always used these Popeyes in Ky. Also used Mister Twister grubs, mostly white. Sassy Shads sometimes work. Also Rapala Shad Raps in Threadfin color was killer. The ongoing theme was white, yellow, or chartreuse. Other colors worked on occasion, but more times than not they would bite only one one of those three.

I am guessing they behave similarly here. About to go give it a whirl this afternoon.

Depends. In slack water a slab or Kastmaster type spoon. If I am fishing around current nothing I have found will beat a white 2" foley spoon. This is below the dams on the Tennessee and coosa rivers.
