I like road-runners, that's what I have always used and done pretty good with. Although last year I did tie on a rainbow trout color rapala and killed em, maybe it was just one of those days. I know different areas call for different baits, but what do y'all like?

Most of the time I use a small Blue Fox Vibrex inline spinner! When things are a bit slower I switch to a double rig crappie jigs and just slow roll them near the bottom!

The venerable, legendary, and unbeatable Rooster Tail. 1/6 th oz, on 6 lb test, on ultralight gear! I have been known to clean out peg racks at both BPS and Academy, when the run starts in earnest!

Anybody ever a double crappie jig setup under a popping cork ? Used this setup years ago and mopped up. Haven't been on a "run" in years. Maybe this year.

1/4 oz white, orange, or chartreuse roadrunner or horsehead jigs with white or yellow gulp 2" curly tailed grub. Usually thrown on 20-30 LB braid so that it's easy to straighten the hook when snagged. Also, have used 3" grub with 1/4 oz texas rig when the snags are just too bad. During last years spawn, the roadrunners caught crappie, white bass, largemouth bass, carp, bull shad, hybrids, stripers and gar.
