Does anyone know if you can still fish the wall at the spillway. Haven't been down there since 911 and just figured they would not let you anymore. Also I used to fish a creek north of the lake at a spot called Jones Crossing and was wondering if anyone has been up there and how the fishing has been.

I don't know about the wall at the spillway. Jones Crossing - The water has been too low the last couple of years to fish back towards the lake from Jones Crossing. I plan on going to Jones Crossing some time next week to see how the water level is. I expect good things if the water level is suitable.

Proctor was awesome today. My darlin' bride, kids, father-in-law and I caught 50 or so keepers with a bunch of dinks. Panfish assassins and 1/32 oz jig heads seemed to be the trick. Father in law took us all to school, and my darlin' bride was a close 2nd. Must be a genetic thing.

Thanks for the info. I called and found out you can still fish at the spillway. I plan on fishing there Saturday morning. I will check out Jones Crossing while i'm there.

Keith,
Hope ya'll wear'em out. Proctor is going to fool around and become my favorite lake I think. I haven't been there but twice since graduating Tarleton 20 yrs ago, but we've done well the 2 times we've been there in the last 3 or 4 months. Heck, it has all my favorite freshwater fish: cats, crappie, hybrids, etc. It's a great little lake.

I'm a 1999 Tarleton grad and used to sack up at the proctor spillway. It's a fun lake to fish. This Saturday will be my first time back since I graduated. Hope we do as good as y'all did.

you can fish the front of the spillway but the back is closed. Just got off the phone with the corps of engineers.

We went back on Sunday, but did not do as well. Mrs. Philpot did her customary thing and caught the most and biggest again, but we just didn't didn't put as many in the box. I cleaned 50 keepers on 1Jan10, but only cleaned 3 or 4 out of the dozen total that we caught. We got there too late in the day I think. Most of those 50 on new year's day were in the box by 9am.
