Thanks to everyone in the thread for the nice comments about Jerry. We were married 34 years and I shall miss him. I have scanned a really good photo of him with a terrific fish - don't think I can post it but here's the link

He spent his life loving fishing and hunting and I spent mine loving him. He was my best friend as well as my husband and he was a good man.

Thanks again gang nice to see you all!

Couldn't have said it any better cbow44.

Got to meet him more than once but only got a pic with him once.

It is with deep sadness that I post here about Jerry Dean's passing. I was shocked to hear of it.
From Sept. 1986 thru Aug. 1990, my wife and I were partners with Jerry and Deb in Honey Hole TV Magazine. I consider those 4 years to be some of the happiest of my life. Jerry and I could not have been closer even if we had been joined at the hip. And my wife Cathy and Deb Dean were like sisters.
The fun, laughter and hard work was worth it all. With me slinging video camera and editing and Jerry hosting the show and selling ads, we produced the first 200 episodes of Honey Hole TV together and had a blast doing it (and with our wives doing everything else that we couldn't do, the 4 of us made a pretty good team.)
Through Jerry and Deb and Honey Hole, I was afforded the opportunity to meet, and fish with, and get to know, many of the legends of the fishing and bass tournament industry.

I will state for the record that in my humble opinion, NOBODY did more to promote Texas bass fishing from 1985 through 2005 than Jerry and Deb and Honey Hole. I know from first hand experience that they personally donated many hours and money and TV commercials and print ads and radio ads, etc. etc. to help many groups like TBBU and SCOT and many others.
I could go on for days about Jerry and Deb but I will close by saying Thank You Jerry for the great times we had together, the bass fishing you taught me and for being like a brother to me those years. To this day, I still consider you one of the very, if not THE, best spinnerbait anglers I have ever known and one of the best trophy bass anglers to ever cast a line in Texas' waters. You were a great outdoorsman!
May GOD Bless You and Rest in Peace. Debra, you have mine and Cathy's deepest sympathy and love. May GOD bless you and give you comfort during these difficult times.
Respectfully,
Floyd Yarbrough

Deb, even though many of us didn't know Jerry personally it was always obvious that Jerry was a good man as you said and in his passing we feel a great sense of loss that words can't properly explain except to say we loved him too.

Jerry, thanks for all the times we watched you portray what a man is all about in this world of wannabe's.Your love of bass fishing and your love of Deb and family was a blessing for all of us to want to live up too.

God bless....

I met him once and he talked my ear off about the question I asked. Can't recall what that question was but I knew in his voice and the way he talked he really wanted me to understand. I will never forget that. So with that I'm letting your off the hook for my HH magazine subsriptions. Thanks for all I learned from your time here.

Truly one of the greatest men in the history of Texas Bass fishing. RIP Jerry. Put him on the cover of the TFF.

My prayers are with you and your family Deb. Please drop me a line if there is anything we can do. I'm going to post your photo of Jerry on our cover this month if that's OK.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach
