Went out to Tawakoni again today with Tommy. Hollie's uncle brought me out there. He is a bass fisherman that saw the pics of my first trip out there and wanted to get into some big fish. We got out on our first spot, set out and sat for about 10 minutes when we got a little 5 pounder that Keith (Uncle) picked up.... now its my turn! Waited about 5 or 10 more minutes and BOOM!!! Reeled down on the bag of sand and cranked it in slowly. Got this beast in the boat and it was a beautiful 50# Male bluecat. The head on this thing was amazing! Released the fish beautifully to fight another day. Another quick 15 minutes passed when we got another hard bite in the front of the boat.. Keith got this one and reeled down on it hard! Not sure if he has ever felt something quite like a big blue on the end of the line. Ended up pulling in a gorgeous 31 pounder. Soon after the release, I heard Keith say "What the hell am I doing bass fishing?!" HAHAHAHAA Thats a success in my book! The next bite was very cool... I was sitting there on one side of the boat just glancing over at the middle rod on the other side when I noticed that the line on this rod was very slowly moving to the left... I asked Tommy what he thought and he said he thought it might be a fish.. so I slowly reeled up some of the slack but couldnt catch up with the fish... he had moved it over probably 50 yards without ever putting any tension on the rod. So finally I caught up with her and put it to her hard. This one was heavy but didnt fight too hard....... until it got to the boat!! Then it was on! This fish just dove down and hard to the left.. I had to get my hand off the reel and put both hands on the rod and pull up as hard as I could.. finally netted this 45# monster. After that the action pretty much came to a halt... we caught about 7-10 eater sized fish from about 2 to 7 pounds. We had a wonderful trip and I would like to give another huge thank you to Tommy and all the Trophy guys! Thank you for the fish of a lifetime, and all the memories!!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

How deep were you fishing? Those look like some nice ones.
The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

Yes Chris I must admit I am hooked on monster BLUE's now. Have so much to learn. I have fished my entire life not realizing fish like the ones we caught today exist. Tommy was great! I highly recommend him if you are looking to land a monster. HuntingTexasTrophies

I am so glad that you had such a good time! So let me get this straight...you caught a bigger fish than Keith?? I think that's an automatic initiation into the family...as if they needed another reason to like you! Congrats on the awesome day of fishing! I bet Keith will tell me all about it as well!

Yep!! I lost a huge cat yesterday in heavy timber. Made me sick. The Lake Waco blue cat is 54# on a jug last October. RR is 35#. Yes we got 60#'s. Those Dallas lakes just freakin rock!!!
