mad When I baught my boat from R&R Marine(that will not prorate a battery and keeps the core for their profit) I have had two of the Trojans that came with the boat(which they have discontinued hummm) completley go dead on me while in a tourny. I, as a novice, went on ahead and baught two more up-to-date continental batteries about 16 and 13 mths ago to replace the ones that Triton had installed at the factory.
I now have one of the newer batteries going bad. bang
Does anyone know where in the lake Fork area that handles Continental or should I look to another brand.
Have used these people all of my driving life and have never had so much problems until now. violin soap

The Continental batteries that came on my Triton failed in about the first six months. That was the last for the Continentals for me. Go to Walmart in Mineola and get the marine Everstart Maxx bateries. They usually last me 3 to 4 years and usually you can find a Wallyworld just about anywhere you go.

First off we dont get any credit for the batteries you leave here. And second we still sell Trojan baateries and continental batteries. The continental batteries from what we are told are 12month free replacement with no prorate. I do work in the shop and have for 5 years. But we do not get any credit for the batteries that are left here.

Need to check on this first: My friend's starter battery died last week in his Triton and when we went to the Walmart in Mineola, we were told by the auto parts clerk that there was no warrenty on any of the boat batteries.

That was brought up in the boats and motor section the other day. I would ask to speak to the automotive dept. manager and find out for sure. More than likely the parts cleark is not as familiar with policies as they should be. Might also remind the manager if this is true just how much business they will loose because Academy, BPS, etc still has warranties and I'm sure Walmarts's home office would be interested as well.

I just got off the phone with WalMart, I am having to buy a new one also. The Everstart Maxx has an 18 month replacement warranty and a 36 month pro rated warranty, cost is $75.

Wal Mart has a new policy. No more Marine Bat. Returns- Period. We went yeaterday to Highland Village and argued with them about their 18 mo. policy. They said No, they would not warranty the batteries. We wanted to buy 2 new batteries and was asking about the warranty.

Sounds like they dont have a clue whats going on. I spoke with the Automotive department and they gave me the 18 month free replacement and 36 month pro rate information. NO WAY IN HECK will I buy a battery at Wal Mart if they arent going to own up to the warranty.

Can't speak to WalMart. But I got Continental Batteries in my New ChampN. They were junk. Lasted one season. Never again. The Interstates I have in now are starting their 3rd season. I do want a good maintenance free battery(s) when these die.
