There are alarms on the market these days that will page a key chain device in the event of a break in. This can be done without having to use the siren. Thiefs would never know what/who's coming. I am sure to install one on my boat once I get it back from the manufacturer. Game cams in the rod boxes would be cool. You would be able to get the look on their face when lead makes impact.

They have been busy on both sides of the lake. Last Sunday night they broke into my boat storage and got my stuff, too. So if you hear of anyone selling Kistler rods and Curados keep your ears and eyes open. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that happened to Steve or anybody. Would be great if they can be identified, arrested and prosecuted.

Did the break-ins occur at a hotel or rental property?

Mine was at a boat storage. And it sounds like the other was at the Minow Bucket motel.

They are not mesh, but I keep my plastics on one of these, and my hard baits in another inside my storage compartments. Pull these out of the rod lockers, take my rods and I am unloaded. They work and it's quick.

I do something like that also.
I assume my boat will get broken into and leave nothing in it that I can't recoup quickly. If I leave stuff in my boat you can bet I got a close eye on it.

I agree Trickster, if my boat has gear in it then I am watching it from somewhere. Oh, and a 9mm is with me while watching.

I use a driveway alarm you can put the sensor in your boat and take the warning unit in the motel. I have one mounted on the carport where I keep my boat and the warning unit in the bedroom. You can buy these for about $20 bucks. The one at my house has already payed off.

Don't make it easy for a thief. Not sure if its worse or just the fact that we have the internet to help spread the word when it happens.

Also I am worried about leaving my boat covered, I would hate to have somebody cut it , does that happen much?

Same thing I use. Also keep 1 in toolbox on truck. Hope it doesn't go off I'd rather use the ammo for hunting.
