His remarks were uncalled for. Because of the way the check-out is set up, he probably gets LOTS of calls and emails about his policy.
I agree. When you finish your transaction, the programming should be such that it shows and prints the entire amount of purchase including tax and shipping charges. The receipt you print should be complete and match what is charged to your paypal, credit or debit card.

When their programming and software is lacking in this ability, the customer service rep has no right to get smarta** with the customer. He should acknowledge the problem and tell the customer they are working to correct their software. There is no excuse for this type of rudeness to a customer.

I was searching for the cheapest price on those lithium batteries for the Surefire flashlights.
Found some for .99 ea great bargain. Shipping and handeling on 12 batteries was going to be $114.00 YIKES !! needless to say, I quickley hit the delete button. After that one I'd never shop anywhere that didn't let you know how much you were paying for S&H before authorizing the billing.

Skippy needs to learn the proper way to deal with customer service issues or he won't have to worry about it very long. Can't stay in business with that kind of attitude.

If you can get his phone number we should have Roy D. bygawd Mercer ring hime up. LOL "Hello, is this Skippy? Listen Skippy, this is Roy D. Mercer, and I got a bone to pick with you. My little dog Jethro done got a hold of one of them Fudgey guides I bought from you when I was taping them on to my catfish pole and the poor little feller done swallered one of the big uns. They must've had some kind of smell on them that reminded him of a Milk Bone or something because he jumped up and chowed down on it like a rat on a Cheetoh.
Anyway, we done had to take him to the veternary and that cost me $750. Now it was your rod guides that caused the problem so I figure to come by and pick up a check for that $750 or there's fixin to be an *** whoopin. How big a boy are ye?" hehehe.

Hey Jon, I think that is really funny, but I think I heard that Roy D Mercer passed away a year or so ago. Did anyone else hear this? If so, we sure lost a VERY funny man!

Tulsa, OK radio announcers Brent Douglas and Phil Stone created the character of Roy D. Mercer. So he can't die unless Brent and Phil decide to quit doing the act. smile

Hey guys, look at the message in Jon's post above.

Before everyone gets wrapped totally around the axle on this. Be advised that there is a young lawyer out there somewhere who would love to pursue a defamation of character, slander, loss of consortium or whatever lawsuit. violin

Is this a great country or what?

Oldgringo, I don't know what you're talking about but whatever. If in the start of this thread the message as printed was accurate and true then the observations and comments made are informative and give opinions. Nobody is trying to defame or injure Skippy. We are just in agreement that his tactics are wrong/bad.
Other people have emailed and gotten like responses from him.
Jon's post only went to show what could happen with shipping charges and the need to fully disclose them. That and making an obviously ficticious situation with John D Mercer.

That young lawyer out there could look at music lyrics today or for that matter the obviously hateful and slanderous remarks found on this and most any other forum and have a much much better case than this one, wouldn't you agree.

Paul some people believe that any form of advertising is good Negative or positive. Most everybody who has viewed this thread has checked out the shofttackle website. The more hits on a site translate into more purchases. My suggestion is providing a link to a site that values customers and does not employ people with the attitude of a skippy. Looked for sites with similar products as shoft this one seemed very well run www.mudhole.com Paul maybe you know of a competitor of theirs that you could list here nothing speaks louder than the almighty dollar. That's the american way and every sale their competitor get's sticks it to a rude yankee.

Allison1, I'm certainly not defending this guy and I certainly have no use for lawyers and not much more for some yankees smile . As gofisf59 points out above ---money talks. The point I apparently failed to make flehan is that lawyers make their money suing people... they don't really have to have a reason.

That too is the American way. frown

If you are a rodbuilder I would like to meet you some time and watch you build. I recently bought 2 Allstar 907 blanks from Andy Dear at Lamar Fishing - http://www.lamarfishing.com/. I am getting into the art of Rodbuilding and would love to see someone work.

Here is a rodbuilding site that has a lot of dealer links that might help you in the future. Rodbuilding.org - http://www.rodbuilding.org/list.php?2
Hi Paul....
While www.rodbuilding .org is a very reputable site for rodbuilders....unfortunately several years ago, there were several vendors who sold rod supplies that were prosecuted for mail fraud...also sold conterfeit rodblanks.
Andy Dear, Mudhole...Bingham Enterprises are just a few of the reputable rod supplies on the site...
If you are a rodbuilder, if you have any questions, feel free to email me..

The intent of the original post was meant to forewarn folks of what they may have to deal with with shoff... I found the site to have a large inventory of quality products and except for the 'wrath of skippy...' I probably would have bookmarked the site and used them frequently.

Having said that I was not trying to toot my own horn claiming superior knowledge of computer literacy or otherwise. I shop a lot online and I believe when you purchase something online or retail at a store the 'final Total price' on the invoice should be the final amount the business expects from me.

I believe that I have cost shoff $1 or .01 cents in future business from Texans and that's good enough for me...

The final outcome...

I did receive the Fuji tips that I ordered in a timely fashion so I must assume Skippie wasn't the person pulling the order and taking time to go to the post office...

Thanks for the links to 'other customer freindly sites...'

Ya'll have a good and safe year fishing... CABA Tournament time is just around the DST spring forward... woo hoo!!!!
