I guess I dont understand what all the "griping" is about on this thread.

All of them get info and spots either given to them or bought & paid for, it has been this way since they quit doing the mystery lake deal. I have not read the elite rules but assuming it is legal....why would anyone complain because they get information either by having a "team" prefish or by some local giving them waypoints for the gps?

Heck I am a good tournament fisherman but I know that in a stand up one day event I cant hang with the top 10 guys of the elite or FLW, doesnt upset me any though.

If I wanted to be as good as they are I would try a heck of a lot harder to do it than I do now. Now bring them to a lake I know pretty well and on the right day I will give them a run for their money.

Stop complaining if it is legal!

okay my turn...I know a friend of a friend, who knows this friend and when this particular friend calls this other friend, he/she is ready to deliver a boat to this secret location where a large unmarked truck is waiting, they pull the boat inside to wrap it for the upcoming tournament, then the well known elite bass fisherman just mysteriously shows up in the boat with all trails loaded.

At a certain level, some people become different than you or I.

They take what we can only dream of doing, and they do it.

It's sweet to watch.

They become Picasso, Da Vinci, Hemingway, Mozart and I think in the same breath, professional athletes.

If you think not, get on the same field with them, get in the same boat.

Or better yet, try to beat them. Compete against them.

Paint better, write better, compose better, get your body to do things better than you think possible.

Become GREAT at what you do, whatever it is.

But here's the catch ... it's not the DESIRE to become great that lands you there ... IT'S THE WILL IT TAKES TO MAKE IT.

Some got it, most do not.

I am not sold on having a spot marked or being told of spots to make you a "Better" fisherman or that you have an edge.
I have had the winners of tournaments take me to their winning "Spots" AND show me how they caught the winning stringer, AND gave me the baits they caught them on.
Just for me to go and ZERO my tournament the following weekend that they won theirs.
Of course I Suuck at fishing - so there has to be some skill involved in actually "Catching" fish from those spots.

" i dont like coming here cause of stupid posts" << what does being a pro have to do with that? I didnt think fishing as a pro was a requirement for posting in this topic.

your post reminds me, i wanted to Order a Hendrix Rod and try 1 out.

Put KVD out at BPS with his spinner bait and a demo tank with no fish in it and give me a tank with 20 fish in it and I'll smoke him every time.

+1 on that Fz1. An even better example. Bring the big boys to Cedar Creek or Richland Chambers in July or August with no advance help and watch Steve 'brushpile' Smith beat 'em every time.

oK they have a 30 day cut off for info, How do we know this? They are not polygraphed like we are when we win,ONLY if ? for a rule infraction. They are to police themselves, they have a marshal that rides along, but he would not have a CLUE IF THEY HAD INFO THE DAY OR WEEK BEFORE.

I have a top 4 money winner on the FLW tour that i have know for 30 years, and we have had this talk several times, he always says- MONEY WINS

I have no problem at all with a guy having his "own" team to pre-fish and event for him, if the guy is too sissy to find his own fish. I do, however, have a problem with the "Team" fishing during off-limits, and I have a problem with the "Pro" paying for the information, and I have a major problem with the sponsors hooking up certain pros with info, waypoints, ect. I thought that there was a rule that "No competitor is allowed to obtain information that will help locate, catch fish....execpt from another competitor. B.A.S.S. uses an observer to enforce the rules on tournament day, but I think they need to poly the check winners in every event to keep this from happening.

Any pro that uses information from outside sources, in my opinion, didn't win the tournament. His/her team won the tournament. I'm sure all the big names in BASS use this technique to find spots/fish, and the argument can be made that "They still have to put fish in the boat". Thats true, but I have no respect for people that can't find their own fish. Or for that matter, people that give up the information to these guys. Chicken Sh|t. Dry it off and go find your own fish guys! Yall are supposed to be the best in the world!
