There is no rule on the number of rods allowed while fishing here in Tx. That's the first thing I do is read the regs, since I fish in all the states we travel in and have licenses to prove it. In CA, you are only allowed one rod unless you purchase a ticket for an extra rod.$$$$

Why should the state care how many rods you use to get your limit. The limit isn't by the rod - its a limit by the license holder.

Community Fishing Lake Pole Limit Anglers would be limited to using two fishing poles on community fishing lakes having special catfish regulations. This proposed rule change would address hoarding of limited bank fishing access. The change would affect impoundments 75 acres or less totally within a city limits or a public park.
The above is the only reference I could find relating to number of fishing poles and it is a proposed rule change for community lakes (one that is completely in the boundaries of a city or park). I guess the limit is how ever many you can fish at one time. I used to put out 5 bottom or bobber rigs from an anchored pontoon boat and then cast with another til the bite started. Then if the action was swift I would end up with one or two in the water.

I've never even thought about the number of poles your aloud to have. Im glad to hear that the is no limit because I bring 10-12 with me on my trips all deployed at the same time but that's on the beach on a peir or boat or jetty that whouldnt even be posible.
