Strike King and Lucky Craft just to name a few, have deep pockets, to hire and find the best locals, waypoints, etc on the lakes that are on the schedule.
So there guys can be on top all of the time. I know they still have to catch them BUT--I have read this before, Now Peter T is telling it happens

Thliveros had his druthers, the Elite Series would have no rules pertaining to off-limits periods or garnering information from locals. His reasoning for that is he says some competitors are acquiring specific details – including waypoints – from guides and top local sticks and it's almost impossible to stop the practice.

Therefore, why not just make it all legal and keep everything above board.

Thliveros finished 60th or lower in each of the first five Bassmaster Elite Series events of 2009, but rebounded to cash checks in the last three.

"That's here, it's never going to change and you're never going to be able to police it," he said. "Just let everybody do what they want to do – let them pay the best guides they can pay and make deals with people (for a portion of the competitor's winnings). But instead of it being a big secret like it always has been, let's do it out in the open.

"I'm not saying I don't get information – I do, but mine comes in the form of relationships with friends and people I've fished with over the years, and I ask them about the conditions and the bite. I don't call and ask them to give me their 10 best waypoints. Some of these guys have no conscience and relying on that is a way of life for them.

"I can't prove anything," he added, "but you know what you know. I have to live with myself and I have to sleep at night, and I don't want to have to worry about that kind of [censored]."

Checks are the Objective

Thliveros said he'll set no goals for 2010 other than to cash checks in as many events as possible. He'd like to get back to the Classic, of course, but that's not the carrot it once was.

A record of futility in the event (he's never finished among the Top 10) has worn away at some of his zeal for it.

"It's terrible not to make it from a sponsorship standpoint, and personally, it was always important in the past," he said. "But I've never been in one that I had a real shot at winning, and it's gotten harder to get excited about it after not coming close in 13 tries.

This is exactly what Brooks Rodgers and Gary Paris were saying last week in another post of the same nature.

Im not going to say any names, but I know someone that fishes the Elites and he has a Team of Anglers that pre fish for him. This didnt happen last year but it is this year. And Peter T is right, If the sponsors have deep pockets, they provide this for the anglers. I dont agree with it, but Like I was told, if your going to compete with the guys that are already doing it you somewhat have to do it as well. Just my .02

Which angler has his own fishing show and talks about his "prefishing" employee? I don't get all the fishing channels, but a friend of mine talks about it. Apparently the guy prefishing for weeks for him.

Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youดre living.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.

I am not buying into it...These guys are still that good...Even if you know spots, areas, techniques, they have to know when to adapt!! I am not going to sit here and dog the elites for getting help, its unfortunate, but it is part of the game!
