The only lake I have ever caught them on is Fayette, and i am not the only one to catch them on lures. This is in the mouth catches, not snags. However, Fayette is the only lake I have ever done this on. I have only fished Fayette about 5-6 times so maybe there is something up with the Tilapia on that lake, differnt kind or something. I dont know Im not a Tilapia expert!

Maybe they sometimes strike out of aggression rather than hunger! Up north they also have big shad/shiner runs where they troll and cast little spoons into schools of spawning shiner and get catches off aggression/slap strikes. These are big shiners too, and lots of people are into it. This is something I have read in a big outdoor fishing mag and seen on TV shows. Just because you havent done something before doesnt mean that someone who has is some sort of liar!

I see that several people here have caught Tilapia on lures as well, on more than one occassion!

FYI, to those people that keep following me around and hounding me, what is the problem? I havent said anything to yall, im not responding to yall, harrassing you, or saying anything hurtfull to you! Yet, you insist on jumping on Fun threads and try to cause problems. It is nobody else except the same group of you. Are yall in highschool or something?

In case you dont know, I have many friends from this forum that I fish with on a regualr basis and they dont like coming to this site and watching yall try and start fights all the time. Its easy to follow the pack mentality but hard to be your own man. Be your own man and get over it, and I garuntee that all this will stop and you can start contributing instead of tearing people down all the time.

There are lots of knowledgable people around here, as well as beginners that want to learn that dont ever post for fear of being attacked by your little gang!

I will admit sometime u might actually post some good info on here, but most of the things u post rub alot of folks the wrong way as if u "OWN" Choke canyon or any of the lakes u fish here in the south.. Just cause u didnt catch them one day dont mean u need to go make a thread saying this is the reason why the lake is [censored] now, and this group is causing these issues and so on, just remember someone is always gonna catch them regardless... I want to know exactly what I have posted that has offended yall so much that yall have to jump on a post where i am talking about the Tilapia that I saw on Choke and bash me for it. How on god's green earth do you get the notion that I am trying to claim ownership to the lake for making this post?

As for any reports that I make on Choke Canyon, I garuntee that they are accurate! I dont just go to choke and fish it one day and try to make judgements from that! I fish Choke about 3 times a week and have been doing so consistently for the last 5 yrs! Im just giving you a factual report. It is not False to say that fishing pressure and drought have greatly effected the lake. Anybody that has been fishing the lake steady for the past decade or longer will tell you the same thing. Like I said, the same report that I recently gave, was the same report given by the callertimes guide forcast. Lots of locals share my ideas! Sure, someone is always catching fish out there, but that is the exception right now. The majority are having a tough time finding fish. If the fishing was hot, id say so!

Now yes, I love Choke Canyon and try to protect this lake as much as I can from people that dont respect the lake. There are lots of people out there that could care less about conservation of this lake because it is not their home lake. They can just take and leave, and move on to the next place once its destroyed. Yes choke is "my" lake! If you fish it it is "your" lake too. We should all take ownership and be protectfull of it, that is why I speak out about things that worry me, the lake cant speak for itself. Now, in no way am I trying to keep people from coming to the lake, nor do I think I have more rights than anyone else. I just want people to act respectfully out there and not just trash it because it wont last forever if treated that way.

I dont understand, I was the one talking about seeing Tilapia on Choke and Catching them on Fayette. Yall were the ones that then jumped on talking trash because you havent seen this! I asked a question about Lake Whitney, yall jumped on and started talking trash! I made a report about my month on Choke, yall jumped on and started talking trash!

Please take your own advice and give it to the people that need it. I have not been the one following yalls posts just to jump on and say rude and ugly things. This is the first time I have adressed the smack talk, I have tried to let it go thinking yall will stop, but there is only so much I can take.

Hey flip you know Bret Fisher he is a guide out there he is a good dude,an one heck of a stik,fished with Rick Cathey to,those are a couple cool guys,an i have been fishing for years and learned alot from thoose guys in just a few outings down there.

No, I dont recognize their names but Im sure I have seen there boats out there. They probably usually launch from Caliahn. I usually launch out of S. Shore or Mason Point!

I bet they know some good pond damns out there though! Im getting into fishing those things now, there the way to go on choke!

I actually saw a bass come out of the water to get a Tilapia on the south shore of Choke. I have never seen a bass that determined to get a bait fish.
