I hate Direct TV since they dropped Versus. I am just trying to find their replacement before I fire them.

Looks like it might be Dish Network. I want WFN.

I have noticed this as well, but fishtoad is right to some degree. Obviously it's all about ratings, but the past couple years the hunting shows have been more prolific. Worst part
is it seems any dipsh!t with a gun and an HD camera thinks he can make a hunting show nowadays, and most of them SUCK!
I mean the audio is bad, or they can't talk clearly, shaky out
of focus video, etc.
Have you guys noticed that they (DTV) seem to broadcast the actual show at a lower volume, so you turn it up & then get blasted into the next room when the commercials come on?
Worst part is I pay $1/mo extra for Outdoors channel & it's
become mostly info-mercials & yes, more poorly executed "hunting"
shows.
I think your right. It's time for a change

I'll add my $.02 here too. Been with DirecTV for over 10 years and was with Primestar before Direct bought them out. My only other option is Dish. The hunting shows are getting unbearable. Most suck real bad and I hunt too.

Seems though that the educational parts of the hunting or fishing shows is minimal ... their whole function is to toot their horn showing the gathering of the game with little discussion on technique(s) or preparation(s).

I am thinking of flushing DirecTV though. Seems they always have a dollar or so increase almost every other bill I get. Is the NFL Channel available with Dish?

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

I just switched from DirectTV to Dish a week ago after 9 yrs with DTV, because of VS and the Outdoor channel. DirectTV has just lost touch.

I have Direct. Hate it.
But as I've learned with cable companies, go to another provider and you'll find the same ole BS, just different bull.

Channel 394 on Dish is WFN BUT you have to have the HD package to receive it. They do not offer WFN in standard definition. Kind of sux but I love that channel lol. DirecTV just plain sux. I didn't renew my contract with them and asked for shipping boxes to send my equipment back in over 2 years ago. Now I got a fricken collection on my credit report because they are trying to charge me for outdated boxes that they never sent me boxes to ship them back in WTF?????

Direct TV's dropping of Versus was the final straw for me. Of course, if I have time to watch TV I should probably be fishing anyway.

I switched from Direct to Dish several years ago when I went from 2 rooms to 4. Direct wanted to charge my neighbor like $200 to do it. So I just called Dish. When I cancelled with Direct they said my neighbor must have been a bad customer. I said no he was with Direct for about 15 yrs and always paid on time. I have HD and got WFN for awhile but it is now red. I need to look into to it because I hate the tournament shows and WFN seemed to have variety. I call Dish about every 6 months or so and talk about switching back and usually get some freebies. They say I am maxed out at $15/month for good customer but I just talked them into to free movies for a month. Before that it was free HD for a year.

Doesn't Comcast own VS? This is what I was told. The crappy part of that is, I live in the country and Comcast, or any cable for that matter is not an option. I have DirecTV now and pay WAY too much. I have also recently had a bad experience with customer service. Seeing as Dish and DTV are my only 2 choices, I am kinda up in the air. I am starting to HATE DTV, but I LOVE NFL Sunday Ticket. Does Dish have NFL Red Zone. DTV can't get it since they have NFL ST
