So if they go private will the Dept of Wildlife continue to stock the lake? I would hope not!

If anyone is going to the lake on Tuesday they need to post so we can all find sout what changes are made. I can't go this week but am planning on going next week if it is still open to the public. I agree if they make it private then we need to make sure were not paying to stock it.

If it became private and the TPWD continued to stock...I would hope the fishing community would raise h*ll until the stocking stopped.

I have the feeling that the ramps will remain open to the public, but with an increase launch fee. The rest of the park would be for TT camping facilities. All would be under the TT contract. This is strictly my guess, but this would make a lot of dollar sense. Time will tell... Roger

I've heard more negative things about TT than positive, although to be fair, people tend to exaggerate the negative. I don't know, but I believe that the reason the right side of the park is closed is cause it is being renovated for RV camping. I believe that the west side of the park will be left open to the public but the east side will be restricted for MEMBERS ONLY. By leaving half the park open to the public, they can still have the lake stocked by TPWD. And the PUBLIC will be controlled by raising the entrance fee substantially.
If I'm not here... I'm probably fishing.

Can't really say it would be a bad thing for them to raise rates and control access with better maintainance and security.
People got spoiled, and it was going down hill for a good while with all the litter and lack of respect for the facilities and attitudes toward other users of the park.
Try getting a good bank fishing spot and there's the guy with 20 rods and reels lining a big stretch of the shorline, and people actually would move in and crowd you out if you were in "their spot" and only had a couple of rods out.
Yep, maybe there is a silver lining in all of this! It is way overdue!
Just one more cast!

I can live with it if they allow access to ramps and cleaning facilities, and I don't mind paying a little more if it is kept clean and maintained. I do wnder how this will affect the guides.

Yes less guides on the lake would be a good thing.. They wont throw back a fish everything is kept if it is legal.

They catch a lot of reds downrigging...I guess when a client pays 200.00 to catch fish, you don't catch & release anything. Roger

yeah, but come on guys, we all know there is still PLENTY of reds in that lake for everyone else...i am not a guide and i catch alot of reds...seen schools so big it's amazing...it's not like there is a shortage of reds. I have no problem with them keeping legal fish, hell it's what they are there for. Put and take fishery.
