no sense going all the way to ranger. Exit in Eastland. Go untill you see a sign for the Dam. Turn left follow road across the dam. On top of the hill there is an old store on the right and La Macha Ranch Resort entrance on the left. Shouls be quicker than going to Ranger from Big Spring.

Entrance is across from a small store/restaurant. That small store has minnows. Just go in entrance and keep driving till you see the boatslips. Costs five bucks a person. You can also get minnows at the La Mancha office, but usually no one is there till late afternoon on Friday. After that they are there all weekend. If you pay at the office, they will often let kids fish free given their attention span. smile Office phone is 254-647-3651. If you want to stay over the weekend, they have RV hookups and rental cabins. Here's a map..

Mo' info is a lot better than mine LOL. Fishing could be great this weekend. Ususally starts firing up the later it gets into december. First two slips to the right and left generally produce well. Usually fish are equal on minnows and jigs. After the morning bite move out to the fourth slip on the left as you face the lake. It is deeper water and that is where the minnows work the best.

Equal on minnows and jigs???????

Wow, I would hate to be sitting there all day with minnows while I watch everyone else catch fish!

fish killer is right we have been going down there for a while and jigs seem to do better than minnows! yeah they still catch fish but the number of fish caught jigs to minnows is pretty high either way take the family and have a good time

Well I guess things have changed since the days that I fished there every weekend. Don't get to go but maybe twice a year now. Have this years trip scheduled for the end of January. I personally do not use minnows but have seen people be very successful there over the last 15 years.
