A small gator will take care of that problem.

Wouldn't the gator cause a whole new problem possibly?

What do you do with them when you trap 'em? Choices: 1) haul them off somewhere 2) kill them 3) other

They are very much like 'coons in that they will return to a pond when hauled away....unless you take them long distances away. Turtles may be slow, but they are sure.

It always comes back to lethal force to me as the best way to control the population. A few turtles are ok, but overcrowding has to be controlled.

alright, ill try to exlain the trapping method. all u need is some nails, a few boards, and a deep wire cage. the cage needs to be like a box. cut one end of the cage off so that it is wide open. then attach small boards, like 2X2s along the top opened edge of the cage, on all 4 sides. u can attach it by using wire or somethign like that. then take a 2X6 or something of the like and nail it so that it goes from oen side of the open side of the trap to the other. we use to make em slanted up towards that middle, thought that way caught more, but u dont have to do that. then take u a bunch of nails, and nail all along the inside of the 2X2s so that the nails stick at a slight angle up wards, and stick out towards the centr of the trap a good 3in min. then u set. heres how it catches turtles. the turtles will crawl up on the 2bysix to lay out in the sun doing their tutrle thing they will crawl out over the box while on the board, and then they will say, time to go do turtle things underwater, well they fall in the cage and they are caught. come to tink of it, u might wanna make it so that the center board has an upward angle to it so they cant crawl back on it. but either way u will catch some. any questions????

I had a friend in ohio that used to jug line them in his pond. pretty simple...He'd put a gallon milk jug, tie some line and bait a hook at the end then once every few days he'd go out there and check them and kill any turtle he caught. i guess like fishing with a huge bobber.

I don't worry much about turtles. They are the buzzards of the pond. I consider them the clean up crew.
