great catch Earnest, have you heard anything about Pecan Creek at Raybo yet? That second cove that is. I have banked it there a caught a lot of crappie at 2lbs. and bass by mistake. lol It is easy to bank it there and there is a lot of brush and rip-rap. At the rip-rap there is a channel that runs next to it. great for the kids to fish. I have also used my boat and fished all the trees that are there. Water in the cove about 24ft. It should be good fishing there this week-end. Hey all, that a kid fishing when ever you can.

I'll let you know about pecan creek tomorrow. I didn't realize that was the name of it, but if it is the second cove to the north of the 3002 bridge, I caught some monster crappie there last year and saw a young man pull in about an 8lb bass on a 12 jiggin' pole. My biggest crappie out of there last year was 17" long and just under 3.25 lbs. Honestly, I think I didn't get there until the spawn was almost over, but for about a week and a half, it was really good. I won't make that mistake this year though!!!!!

Well, I fished north of 3002 last night from about 6-8. I caught 2 sandies and two tiny crappie. In my opinion, the water needs probably needs to warm up another 5-10 degrees before they are in there thick. Without a thermometer, I can usuallly judge when the water temp is good by getting in and wading around. It was still too darn cold to do that last night.
I also fished off of 922 and caught a few small crappie.
