+1 on the Bargain Cave. I picked up a new 3-wt today over at Red Truck and went to the Bargain Cave for my reel, line (Rio Grand for $39?!?), plus a new pair of wading boots and a wading jacket.

Oh, sorry Rex, I meant Jackman. Or should I apologize to Jackman? This stuff is so confusing...

I think don't anyone would want my waders, they are old and cheap... But, you're right, I'd sure trade for a gift card any day. However, I'm not willing to trade for those leaky waders. Rex

I'd go with Simms G3 waders. Love mine.
They also make the Simms G4 too, but my G3 are just fine.

My advice is to not wear spurs with waders.

That's what I was referring to: Jackman's post about not being able to find the leak in his waders.

That's what I was referring to: Jackman's post about not being able to find the leak in his waders. Heh... well, I guess after the clue train stopped by my house enough times I finally took delivery. They're fixed. Until the next leak starts, anyway.

I wont disagree about breathable waders being better for all-around use...especially in Texas, but neoprenes will be a little more durable for duck hunting and such.
Hodgeman makes a pretty good pair of breathables at Academy. Redington also makes affordable pairs.

Thanks for all the good information.
Another question: I doubt seriously that I'll be wading into water over my waist. Does everyone recommend to just go ahead and opt for chest waders on a just in case basis?

My fistful of pennies; I used to go to the Blue River quite often (back in the old time days of yore) and initially used neoprenes. A day would end with pouring out the sweat and dashing up to Scotty's store for a shower and change before heading home.
Then I bit the bullet and got a pair of breathables at BassPro. I have to wear longhandles and such under them but I stay comfortable and am oh so dry at the end of the day.
