Yes, toons don't work well in large deep open water and high wind conditions. Unless you can find a sheltered spot. I have used mine in the shallow flats at Port A area, where you can stand up or get shelter behind overpasses. A lot safer than wade fishing and will get you to places where no other craft will. Mostly I do Guadalupe where they work better than any other craft because of stability they offer.

Took the pontoon out for the first time, was suprised by how much even a little breeze can throw one out of position. I was spinning around quite a bit.
If you don't use the oars, you can't fish, and if you have to use the oars you can't fish.
