Maybe I could have worded my reply a little better. The injector might be just the ticket when the crappie are not so active like in cold weather. Thanks for the heads up La-Skeeter. Didn't mean any offense to you or Catcher. Just stated my opinion....and you know what opinions are like.....maybe mine stinks.
Good luck on the lake.

Hello everyone, I would like to introduce myself as the inventor of The Bait Pump. Let me shed a little light on the theory and purpose behind the history of The Bait Pump to help clear the air. One day two years ago fishing was slow, so my dear old uncle started using a new product he had found called Berkley Crappie Nibbles. He starting catching crappie, and soon had me using them. At the end of the day we had our limit and could cull from the live well and brought home 100, 1 to 2 pound crappie. The only problem was for every crappie caught, 1 to 3 nibbles ended up in the bottom of the boat due to the fish shaking and our other nibbles, on our four jig setup, would be shaken off, plus the constant removal of the nibbles by bream or smaller crappie. This caused a problem because the nibbles worked very well, and we didnt want to stop using them, but the constant mess became more than my wife could stand when it came time to clean the boat. This prompted me to look for a better way. I tried syringes, turkey injectors, and even a turkey injector with the aid of a caulking gun. Nothing worked well due to the high viscosity of the nibbles unless they were watered down to the point of being so thin that they would not last long even inside the jig. A few months later I had the opportunity to design and machine ducks calls made from acrylic and this led to the design of The Bait Pump as it is today. I made a few and tested it secretly to make sure that it worked, and I new right away that I had an advantage over others on those days the fishing was slow, without the mess in my boat. On good days on the lake I found that the aid of crappie nibbles were not necessary, but I felt better knowing that they didnt hurt anything being injected into my jigs. The day came when I had to share with my family and friends because they struggled most days to catch, and new that I was doing something that made my bait more attractive to fish than theirs. I made and gave away 10 Bait Pumps to them, (my uncle included), and immediately improved the catch that they other wise struggled with. A friend of mine said if you dont get a patent you are going to see it the shelf for sale at Wal-Mart one day and you would be sorry.
WHAT WOULD ANY OF YOU DO IF PLACED IN THAT SITUATION?
So to sum up the matter, The Bait Pump is used to enhance the use of soft plastics with a paste of a viscosity such that can not otherwise be easily injected. I do not begrudge any of the jells or jellies on the market, they are great, the only problem I have with them is that the thicker paste last longer and I have more time for fishing and less time injecting.
So please stop posting these references to my product in these childish forums. I have heard it all before. The Bait Pump is not for all, but has its place.
Thank You, Randy Hulin

I agree, I wish I had more control, but I don't. When I was selling them the cost was very high for material and machine time. I knew cost would be the biggest problem. They are expensive to build. But then what product of any quality for fishing is cheap? This is not a disposable product and should last a lifetime under normal use. I am still using the 1st one that I built 1 1/2 years ago. I have saved money simply because I choose to use crappie nibbles, and have made the use of them more efficient with The Bait Pump. Try getting a patent on a product if you want to talk about money.

You mean references other than positive endorsements. I'll post my opinion and dont care if you agree with it or not. There is something "fishy" about this whole mess and I ain't biting.

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH. EVERY DAY NEW IDEAS SHOW UP IN ANY INDUSTRY. SOME ARE BS, OTHERS ARE GREAT BUT NEVER BECOME COMMERCIALLY VIABLE AND A VERY FEW SURVIVE TO BECOME PART OF THE STAPLES OF THE INDUSTRY, WHETHER FISHING, GOLF OR ANY OTHER INDUSTRY. I HAVE NO IDEA IF THIS PUMP WILL WORK AS ADVERTISED OR NOT. I DON'T EVEN USE NIBBLES MOST OF THE TIME. I DO FEEL THAT THEY WILL MAKE THE FISH BITE BETTER SOMETIMES. THE BIGGEST OBJECTION I HAVE TO THEM IS THE MESS THEY LEAVE IN MY BOAT. (SOME OF YOU THAT HAVE SEEN MY BOAT MAY LAUGH AT THAT STATEMENT ) ANYWAY SINCE I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION WITH THIS PRODUCT AND ONLY KNOW WHAT I HAVE READ HERE, I WILL BUY ONE AND TEST IT FOR THE FORUM. THE IDEA SEEMS TO HAVE MERIT. THE SHIPPING CHARGE IS REASONABLE. ON THIS FORUM WE WELCOME DIFFERENT OPINIONS. I BELIEVE AN INFORMED OPINION IS BETTER THAN AN UNINFORMED ONE. ANYWAY LET'S LET EVERYONE HAVE THE RIGHT TO THEIR OPINION AND NOT GET INTO PERSONAL ATTACKS OR GET TOO OPINIONATED UNTIL THE FACTS ARE IN. REMEMBER WHAT ERNEST SKINNER SAID TO ORVILLE ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO. "I'LL KISS YOUR A$$ IF THAT THING WILL FLY. ------------------ GOOD FISHING. ERNEST"I LIVE FOR THE THUMP"

Still.....It's just an expensive serenge. A cheap serenge would do the same thing. In fact adding a needle to it would make it work better except that it you might get pricked. I'm real skeptical of scents anyway whether for bass or crappie. Good forum though LA...It's gettin darn hot down here.

As far as sents go, a guy in my bass club swears Garlic flavor Pam is as good as the fishing sents and a lot cheaper. I plan on trying it when I run out of Bang.

I can't understand people that won't use scents but don't hesitate to move to minnows when things slow down? Scents don't work all the time, but I have seen days when you couldn't get bit without a nibble on. If this product keeps the nibbles out of the carpet then it is worth the money! Well put Jerry That is another point I was wanting to make, but was a little afraid to say. I don't begrudge anyone that uses minnows. Shucks they were here a long time before jigs, jigheads, and crappie nibbles. I personally don't care for minnows because to many times I came off the lake with a bucket of dead minnows. Talk about cost. I don't know the cost of minnows anywhere else, but here they are high, and have a lifespan for me of about half a day, if I or my guest don't kick them over dumping them in the boat. I guess I may care about my boat more than others care about thiers. (and my wife is a neat freak too) Thanks Jerry

I would have to agree that a syringe is much cheaper. I tried the Syringe, as I use to work in a hospital and they were readily available. When I tried to pump the nibbles and other baits that I use through a syringe it would get stopped up real fast. I would have to add a liquid to the syringe and would have to work at getting the bait that I was using to clear. I even tried different needle points and then no needle at all. Found that the going was very tough, I then opted to get the Bait Pump and the first time I tried it with the nibbles I had absolutely no problem. I then went on to making my very own bait, which consisted of crawfish that was mixed in a food processor with garlic (real garlic). Once mixed and processed to a smooth consistency I put this into the bait pump. I really expected to have a problem with getting the crawfish through the Bait Pump and into my tube for bass. With a twist of the Bait Pump, viola - it worked!! I was elated to say the least and at that point made arrangements to stock and sell what I felt was a fantastic product for fisherman as I have been an avid fisherman since mid 1960s. After seeing the Bait Pump and how it was made I decided that the price was really not that bad as it would last a life time. It is made of a very hard acrylic <sp> and has a machined threaded plunger that when turned will move the bait through the tip. There are two size tips, one made for Crappie type baits and a larger tip for Bass typ baits. While many will feel that The Bait Pump might be pricey, it is very well made and will not end up in the lake, on a tree or in a bush like some of the many high priced baits on the market. This is something that can be used over and over with many different types of baits. Your imagination is your key to making good baits to be added to both crappie plastics and bass plastics. In fact I will make this statement for everyone to read and will stand by it. If you do order The Bait Pump from my site I will offer you a complete money back guarantee, and if you or not 100% satisfied with the product that you receive I will refund your money within 30 days time <less the shipping> and if it is returned in the original packaging. Show me other fishing baits that will offer that type of guarantee. You will agree when you see this product and have it in your hands that the quality of the workmanship is one of the reasons why it has a higher cost factor. I hope you don't mind my ramblings and I also hope the users and moderators do not mind my offer of the money back guarantee. Understand that this guarantee is not issued by the makers of the Bait Pump, but by myself as the owner of BoVon Marketing, Inc. of Louisiana. You may read and order from http://www.thebaitpump.com Bob Wieters President/CEO BoVon Marketing, Inc. 1-800-828-2105 aka "LA-Skeeter" I hope everyone has a very Happy 4th of July!

Inventor,
I can't believe one of the women fisherpersons,--trying to be politically correct,--haven't ragged you here. Twice you have made reference to your wife cleaning up the boat without ever mentioning her as a fishing partner.
I just had to throw that out just for fun and for my wife to see. My wife and son are about the only ones I ever fish with. "The family that plays together stays together".
I hope the best of luck to you with your product. I have been trying to learn to fish with jigs and have posted your product twice here in the past few months looking for feedback from the "pros" and got one good reply and mostly other replies indicating why fool with it.
I have about given up on jigs and am still drowning minnows, (or shiners as I have always heard them called around here).
As a matter of fact I am so fed up with the Bass heads on Fork banging us up against the bridge pillars that I am slowly migrating to Sandies, Hybrids, and Stripers. I will have an immaculate 2002 XPress 17" boat posted here very soon as I am looking for a big CC boat now.

Hi Danny, When I saw your post, I had to sign in on Randy's user name and respond. I am Anna, Randy's wife and his fishing partner. (I am also his best competition!) We have fished together for 26 years now and I credit that to the fact that we are still together. So many couples have nothing in common and don't do anything together. We brought our two children up fishing and kept them on the water and off the streets. They both are now grown and highly respected young adults in our community, and we are so proud of them both. I love to fish, but can't always go with Randy so he takes his uncle a lot in the winter. I am so glad he does because it's an opportunity that won't always be there. (One day we will all be at that age hoping someone will take us!) We take pride in our boat, home and all we work so hard for and take good care of it all. We also take good care of family and friends and take them fishing. So I do agree with you 100%. Yes I do help clean the boat and don't mind at all. Sometimes I clean it and have not even been on the actual fishing trip that messed it up but, Randy works 3 jobs to make sure that he provides everything my children and myself may need. So we not only play together we work and pray together too. If more people thought this way, there would be more quality family time spent together, less divorce and children on the streets and in trouble. We have seen you post questions about our product many times. If you will look around, there is way more positive said than negative. We are honored to have had an excellent review by Don Shoopman in Louisiana Sportsman Magazine. You can also check with Mark Gromvoltis at www.thecrappiekiller.com , he is now endorsing our product. He has used it and is very pleased with the results. Jeannie Poe at www.crappiestuff.com would be more than willing to give you her review. She fully believes in it. Jonell Whitstine W.B.F.A. grand champion winner is sold on it. She uses it on the tournament trail. I have many quotes from several influential fisher-persons if you need more information. Please, if you or anyone have any questions or comments, feel free to ask any of these people, just to mention a few. Happy fishing to you, your family and friends.

fellows, I'm kinda shocked. At the way folks talk about price on here with regard to this product. If I remember right, there were alot of folks going ga-ga over fiz pellets that in my opinion were high priced. You would almost spend that much for a small amount of them and they might last a couple of trips. This product has merit. It will last as long as you take care of it. Now, does it do what they say it does? I will wait for Ernest's review...
I will not buy it personally. Simply because I don't care if I spill a few in my boat or have to keep loading up. I am satisfied with using the nibbles directly from the jar. Yes I spill some almost every trip. Big deal. I'm a slob! I'm not a purist of any sort, and I'll do whatever it takes to catch fish..oops Crappie! I will not fault a guy who invests his time and hard earned $$ to creat something that might make him a living...We should all be so creative... Like Ernest says, alot of jigs aren't made to catch fish..just fishermen...not that this product is one of those type items, ..
If you don't want it..just say "I don't want it".. Don't be such critics... Welcome inginuity!! It's that sort of thing that came up with the crappie nibbles in the 1st place.. as well as hooks... mono line, different weight line class, etc. INVENTOR..more power to you..I hope you never have to work another day! JUST FISH!
Big Stringers to ya!

What is the deal here with the all the stress? Catcher was told to "calm down buddy". Whatever he said must have been deleted.
Crappiefisherm4life and catcher ought to check into a blood pressure monitor.
