I'm a sucker for a good looking bait, but until they put lipstick, high heals and large breasts on it I'll stick with my Pop R.
Thanks guys... Dat Der is funny U.F.

You think they are high now, when they first came out they were 38.00 ea. and look at what a good 3/8ths Yellow Majic will cost you, if you could find one that a guy will turn loose of.

Uncle Funky, You build one of those baits and I bet you could get more than $25 out of them.

Something I've noticed about the Yellow Magics...they spit more water than a Pop R.

Something I've noticed about the Yellow Magics...they spit more water than a Pop R. +1...IMO that is the answer. I fish the yellow magic all of the time and the difference is the way it spits the water. a popr will splash the water a yellow magic spits the water..

Precision machine cut body versus molded body. The shape is completely different than the common Pop-R, thus giving a better action. Hand painted as well. I have a buddy who hand makes all the wood muskie lures he makes (about 4500-5000 a year) and he sells them all for about $25-$40 each and people are still calling him to make more. Those are way cool!

No sucker UncleFunky... Just like with any other lure, there are days when the PopR will outfish the Yellow Magic, and vice-versa.
Just another tool in your arsenal.

Y'all just keep on throwing your Pop-R's. Nothing is wrong witgh them, BUT, the YM is a completely different bait. It's action is not like the Pop-R. I can spit water about 7' with a YM, not so the Pop-R. I can walk the dog, as mentioned above. I can also chug it, but that action is close to the Pop-R. Wait until someone schools you on them. I schooled 2 pro anglers and a guide thorwing a YM against their Pop-R's. The couldn't believe it. Gary, I have 7 of the 3/8's and someone offered me $150 for each one of them. They are a BIG FISH BAIT and you better not thorow it on less than 20# test. I bought the last of the 3/8's models from Mustang Resort in 2000 or 2001 for $13 each. I gave one to a professional angler and he has won over $24000 on that bait this year. His partner hates him, because he can't get a 3/8's. The belly is a little concave, much different than the Pop-R and that is just ONE of the things that make it a much different bait.
Wish I cuold tell you exactly what the bait can do different than a Pop-R, but I cannot, you have to see it in action. Unfortunately, I have, like, 27 of them, but they are worth the price to me.
Oh, the guy with the $150 each for the price tag, he is a MAJOR ELITE BASS Angler that almsot everyone knows his name. If HE is willing to pay that price, what do you think the baits are wworth? He fishes for a living and he wants them bad enough to pay that price, because they stopped making them and they are WORTH IT! I may give him one for free, but I will not sell them, well, if someone offered me $1000 each, I would sell a couple of them, I guess. If you have never experienced the bait, I feel apathy for you that you haven't had the pleasure. In 2000, I won a 2 day team T by myself on only 5 fish. 10.48 came on a scum frog, but the two 8's, the 6 and the 5 came on the 1/4 oz. YM (a friend had given me for Christmas). So, 37.82 worth of bass is good enough for me to believe in them, whoops, minus 10.48, but that is STILL a good average.
Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Bought one 4 years ago, 350 fish later the Lake Fork Monster ate it a month ago. Changed hooks and feathers 6 times over the years. No its not worth $15 to catch 350 fish on it yall go buy pop'rs. The 350 fish estimate is a very conservative estimate.
