Hey Boliver Rat, great video!!! Definitely a kodak moment. By any chance did you check to see what kind of bait was she using. I usually will use mud minnows for them flounders too. Or was she using plastics.
Hey Krazy fish, My wife and I might be there this weekend too. What do you drive and I'll stop by and say howdy to ya. We will be in an old beat-up black GMC truck.

She was using carolina rig with mud minnows. She was fishing them like a plastic on bottom. She was catching 3 to 1 of the guys with her. On the bayside of the east side(High Island side) of rollover about 20 feet bayside of that yellow portable toilet in about the middle. Exact location. How is that for service.
What I mean is she was flipping the rod tip intermediately like you would work a plastic on the bottom.
If your coming this weekend I would get their early like friday night because word is out on flounder. It will be packed.

I believe we will be in a Grayish 4 doors 05 Tundra with a G-Loomis fish decal on the back window. We are a group of 4 Asian guys. Or a grayish 04 Tundra with a top on the truck bed. We don't know which truck we will be driving over there. There will be 2 big Asian guys and one dark skin Asian guy. The dark skin Asian guy will be me. Hope to see you all there.

Mud minnows are near impossible to find. Most are using finger mullet.

This is wonderful. I am heading to the coast Friday and will fish ROP on Saturday morning. I will be in a red 07 Camry. My other guys will be there Sunday morning/afternoon.
This is going to be a great trip. Hope to see you all there. I can't wait to meet all you TFF members.

It's looking more and more promising that I can go tomorrow. I wonder if the heavy rain might effect the flounder run ?

Thank you BolivarRat, most definitley great service !!! Thats what I expected of where she would most likely has success. As I recall , that side has been most productive in the past several years. I have seen some crazy flounder fishing there right about that spot. But still THANK YOU. See ya'll this weekend. Tight lines and keep safe!

I would like to go too. I'd be coming from Austin though. I don't know if it's better to go to the Galveston Ferry to get to Bolivar and head up 87 to get to Rollover or go the other way through Channelview and Baytown and so forth around Trinity Bay and south to get to Gilchrist to avoid the ferry, but it's a longer distance. I usually go the ferry route but was thinking maybe to go around the other way through Baytown but I don't know. It's just a long drive for me, like 5 hours, but I really want to go try Rollover since it has been a while since I have been there. Either there or give wading the Bolivar Pocket a try.

I just drive to Winnie and turn right. I think Gilchrest is less than 20 miles from Winnie. It's a little longer in miles, but shorter in driving time.

I recommend that you go where to can easily stop by and pick up some live bait if you have the chance. Good luck partner!
