I don't think it matters where someone goes when they don't know where, why and how to fish a given lake at a given time of year. JD posted where, why and how he was catching the fish, to help a guy out. If someone should have went to Tawakoni to catch stripers and hybrids, then where, why and how should he do it? Each lake offers up great angling opportunities, but if you don't know the lake, it can be very frustrating.

My advice to you, fishingboy123, is to hire a guide for the lake you wish to fish and ask lots of questions and pay close attention to what they do, how they do it and why they do it. One guide trip can save you countless hours of catchless fishing time and arm you with the keys to catching good quantities of fish thumb

I'd bet that out of 100 fish that day not one came in water more than 3 feet and most in 1-2.
Big ppencil poppers or chug bugs are the ticket especially in real windy conditions. Dont look for fish.. just work points and drops...not all banks are created equal...sometimes it will just be random along a bank but most times they will be holding on some subtle structure like a point or small drop off. They like having deeper water nearby to escape.
maybe that'll help a little for next time smile

Amen to that...staying away from the boat show at sandbass pass paid off today...I also noticed that the banks that have clean water are more productive.
