Have been a bass, hybrid, striper, crappie and white bass fisherman all my life. I just never learned an easy way of cleaning catfish. The last few years the catfishing has really picked up on my area lakes and I would like to start doing some myself. Wondering if you guys would give me some tips on the easiest way to clean mister whiskers.

I fillet them the same as i do all other fish.

throw him back! No really many people skin them. I just fillet them like all the other fish I clean.

I was taught to skin them. That the reason I don't fish for them. To lazy for that nowadays.

Too lazy?? Catfishing is the laziest type of fishing there is. Throw stinky stuff in, sit back and wait.

Isn't nice to be loved. Certainly post up in the Catfishing section and you'll get some genuine input.

I fillet them just like everything else. Little harder, but quicker.

I fillet them as well, you have to start farther back on them then you would other fish though. You lose a little meat on the front end, but worth it for the time and ease.

Get out the electric knife and fillet them like any other fish.
