Kevin Van Dam Also joins the humminbird team... There is a article on it and KVD on Wired2Fish!!!! Also new models, 998 and 898(come pre loaded with new software).. This will be a software update no need for new hardware or trasducers, just a download that will be ready in January... Folks with 797 wont be able to have down imaging but the 1197, 997 and 798 will!!

It will be a software download no need to replace anything, you must register ur product on H-birds web site to access there downloads... wont be released till january!

It had the following changes - Higher res screen (640x640 vs 640x480 pixels) Both rated at 5" diagonal - 2nd SD slot allows for Lake Maps and screen saving - 3 User defined buttons - Better GPS

Did I miss something on their website/news release, I didnt see the 997si mentioned for the upgrade? I saw the 1197 though.
