I cannot tell you how many times I have had my heart broke at at night T by a big old catfish. Toss a big senko next to the weedbed, set hard after the bait gets just crushed, the place just explodes with water flying everywhere and for just a second visions of a nice check start dancing in your head. Then the rolling starts and the vision of a nice check ends....AAARRRGGGHHH! Sure gets your heart beating hard for a bit, and your partners too!

I bought a new Jackal swimbait- laid out the $20 and was sure the black crappie pattern was going to turn up a big bass on Fork.Sure enough on my first cast I turned one crank of the reel and it got flat out hammered. The phrase "I told you so" was almost out of my mouth before my fishing partner started laughing and we both saw a nice cat break the surface. He still makes fun of my $20 catfish bait.....

How about those drum...I've caught several catfish while fishing a senko, but I'll bet I've caught twice as many drum. The last one went 11.2 lbs, by far the biggest one I've caught. Last fall I got that tap and that day I was loaded for big game with 65 lb braid and a 3X Owner hook I call my shark hook. I was flipping and unintentionally had my drag set so tight that it didn't release a foot. Turned out to be a 20 lb blue cat. With 7 ft of line out that dude loaded my boat...I let out a whoop that was probably heard for miles...that's the strongest fish I've ever put a hook in.

I had forgotten about my first grinnel. My wife was 9 months pregnant. I had rigged a cane pole for her while I was thrashing the water with a spinnerbait. When that dude hit, she wanted no part of it and he was a thrill. I had no idea what it was, took it home for identification, then buried it in the back yard.

This one stretched my 10 pound test on a crankbait.
