lake georgetown. Maybe this fish was caught a year ago also???? I think we will name it Ole George. http://www.austinbassfishing.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1227210094/0BTW, most of the time if you throw a < 9 inch white or crappie back, and they don't do too well evidenced by their hanging out at the top of the water too long, maybe 90% of the time KERR BLAMMM, something eats them. Might want to make that Georgette; it is most likely a female!

Where she was caught, we call it Rattlesnake Cove. Some good fish in that spot. Those are few and far between on GT. Congrats!

BTW - that bright yellow rain coat puts to rest the idea that an angler needs to camoflauge himself in order to land fish!! LOL.

Not sure why he isn't responding - I just posted his picture - caught in rain, from shore, using silver slab on bottom, curado/loomis rig, 30# braid line, 20lb fluro leader. We didn't call the ranger. The only way to get legal weights is to take the fish 1 mile away where the scales are located at the Barn. A boat with a live well would be okay, but on foot, we would have to kill the fish - a waste. He has an Academy digital scale, it stopped at 11/1. I caught one 10.9 last year about this time on a white slab about 200 feet away.

Kudos to you guys for letting that fish go! Wow, #30 braid, that's relatively thin isn't it? I bet that was one heck of a fight..

Hi All! Thanks for all the comments. Was a great fish.
That is our 3rd fish over 9lbs in that area.
I actually use 20# braid and 20# fluro leader..I was using 30# but kept running out of line casting.. so I had to move to smaller line.
Caught that fish on a $1 silver spoon....
