So I am pretty interested in the history of Fork and a few local lakes... who has bought this CD, and is it worth the $$ to learn about the lake and get some good history of the impoundment?

Thanks!

I assume you are referring to Martin's map Lake Fork Unplugged CD. It's a good map if you fish fork alot. There's embedded picture files from when the lake was first impounded. Much of what was there in the pictures is now rotted away, but you get the general idea of what was there, what the points looked like, what submerged Vegatation, pig farms, foundations, bridges, roadbeds, etc...

The CD is just like the printed map, but you are able to zoom in for much better detail. I have printed the pages and built a notebook with each section of the lake broken out into East/Central/West. You're able to see contour lines and detail that most maps don't provide. I use it in combination with Navionic's chip.

what else do you want to know...??

Looks like most of those pictures came from the early book that was done when Fork was being built.

I've got the CD and a couple of copies of Jimmy's laminated map. They are the best available and you will get great customer service from Martin's Maps. The CD also allows you to zoom in to really see a close up of an area of interest.
