So I hit the lake this morning to do some Big Blue Hunting..The water temp has dropped with a quickness the last couple of days...The first spot I hit had steady bites but nothing worth talking about...(couple small channels) The wind picked up so I decided to move to a old spot of mine...I had the wind to my back and started catching some nice 3-8 lb blues on every cast. At about 4:30 the wind was a steady 35 miles an hour with gusts close to 50...Thats when the fun began!!!!!!I hooked one that peeled drag for about 10 seconds straight and then spit the hook....10 mins later I caught one that went 12 lbs....(The only one I kept) and about 15 mins after that I caught the big fish of the day...It weighed 35.4 lbs according to my berkley digital scale... I was the only one in the park all day long! I had a blast...except for the tropical storm force winds!

Way to go Damfisherman! Nice looking blues and hope our water temp starts to fall down here.

Looks like I'm bad luck for you. Every time we go it's nothing but gar and less than11# cats. But according to the fishing index, today was a perfect day for fish. 73 degree waters. Doesn't get a whole lot better. Next time you need to keep all the decent size ones to fill our new garage fridge.

Thanks guys! Landon I hope you know that it is my mission to put you on one over 50 this season...We have been targeting flatheads the last month and it has felt like a big waist of time and money...Now that the water temp is falling the blue fishing will be steady and I dont have a doubt in my mind that our next couple of trips will produce some much larger fish than your used to seeing.

i shoulda pulled my boat up next to you this afternoon. i got beat to death and didnt have much luck at all.

They were stacked in the party cove...the wind pushed the shad into the cove...and the cats followed!

i should have tried there first. i got a gallon of nice shad the first throw at the cut there

I guess i know why i haven't had as much luck latley,DAMFISHERMAN has been catching all the good ones. Talk about a great bank fishing report,way to go DAMFISHERMAN.(that spot looks kind of familiar lol)
