You are better off spending the money once, and staying dry. Any of the cheaper raingear is ok in light rain for a while, but if you are out in a rainstorm all day long the cheaper stuff will get you wet.
When you do buy your raingear, you need to consider buying camo so you can use it for hunting too.
Don't skimp on wet/cold gear. It could cost you your life.

The goretex will keep you dry if you ware it all velcrowed down. but it will also be to warm and confining at times. If your going to fishin weather all day I dont think anything is perfect,But that said goretex is still the best.

I actually bought a browning one and am very happy with it. Fished 7 hours in the rain yesterday and kept my clothes and myself dry.

Frogg Toggs
I fished all day Friday in the rain with them on and stayed dry. Fished Texoma during the deluge earlier this year and stayed dry. GoreTex if you want to spend the money but Frogg Toggs work fine for me. They are light, dry quickly and store in a small space when the rain stops.

Gore Tex is the way to go and make sure you get the bibs, not pants. I've got the BPS set that they normally run on sale for a little over 200 and have been very pleased with it. Had a set of Frog Togs that ripped about the second time I wore them. Would not recommend them.

BPS Pro Qualifier Gore Tex jacket and bibs are just the right weight for Texas weather. Non-insulated but plenty warm for winter but still comfortable in warm weather and you will stay dry.

The 100 MPH gear will be too hot in the spring/summer. The non insulated is perfect and you can layer underneath it in the winter if needed.
