The only hydrilla and lilly pads I know of is on the other side of the bridge toward the islands and shallow water. Some pretty good redear fishing that way and decent bluegills too.

Yes, the bridge is a good spot. Also by the damn is a good spot. I always see people in the reeds around the island at jones branch, but never see anyone pulling in fish, although it is always crowded.
Which bridge are u talking about??? the one they call dotson bridge?? There are 2, they both are good.
I am headed to murvaul next week, I will update ya on the crappie fishing, and possible bass fishing.

Ive bass fished murvaul several times in the past couple weeks. Can't tell you about the crappie but I can tell you on the weekends that 5-piling bridge may have 10 boats under and around it. Heard they were catching a few, but it is quite crowded in there.

right before the influx of new water there were good fish on beds, havent been able to tell since as it was extremely muddy last weekend. Fished it back to back days and did pretty well pitching jigs into holes in the buck brush.
