I have learned what has already been said:

When Ernest has a seminar go to it, and listen.

Hold the jig still instead of bouncing it all around.

Shooting docks.

Longer jigging poles.

Read the TFF, you can learn a ton of info.

I have learned this:
If you have the ability to move, there is no use in fishing one spot for an hour. Move around till you find hungry fish! I think that if you haven't caught a fish in 20 min then you should chage spots.

I have learned that good looking young women in bikinis can cause indirect damage to trolling motors and main motor cowlings...

Have practiced fishing to find a pattern and use it to find more fish, has made my trips more successful in the long run this year. Observation and persistance have paid off more often than luck for me this way.

Hey guys,

For what it's worth that Bass I caught that likes country music was in 2 foot of water about 10 feet from the boat. Also my brother and I used to fish after work in the evenings and listen to sports at 6:00 on WBAP. We had some of the best times I can remember, and caught some of the best fish too.

Be willing to try something new or different. When what/where you know isn't working, change!!

Sorry HalDodd
Charlotte and I were talking about this again the other day, We,ve fish off the little Gen. and Lanterns both and haven't seen any real difference, But like I saw someone mention earlier were fishing in 12 to 18 foot of water. Maybe you can join us one night and see what you think. As for me I'm headed out now for a little crappie under the lights myself.

HalDodd, I guess we've all got different ways.I don't feel it hurts my fish but I am fishing in 12 to 18 foot of water. Infact I just gassed up the Gen. and am going out crappie fishing in a few min with my bud next door.We found a pile that was really holding fish this morning but couldn't stay on them because of the wind. But I do agree there has been time when quite has made a difference too.

I learned that if you are fishing for sandbass with a homemade slab, and you get bit by a 50 lb. catfish, it is a good thing
to be using an 'Ugly Stik', and
that your reel is spooled with spider wire, and that there are two people in another boat near you who can help you land it. (They even had a camera & took pictures).

Why is everyone apologizing? I just said it helps to be quiet? Could it hurt?

I do agree that quite is called for lots of times, We fish the cattails at Canton City lake in the spring and just one bump on that old metal boat and your looking for fish again. It's just my nature to be apologetic, Im always tring not to hurt anyone else with my opinion. Hope we can wet a hook one day.
