this may sound dumb...but it has worked on a couple of my cell phones...get a zip lock bag.. put the unit in it and fill it with white rice and set it in a window seal and cross your fingers...This trick has resurected my moto razor 2x...good luck

I'm glad you got things resolved. I have heard that the problem has been fixed and the new units are fine. I am checking with someone I know at Lowrance to see if they have an official response or not.
If you have an older unit you might want to check into it.
They are awesome units though.

I odnt have very expensive units but they werent cheap to me and my dad has always bought some waterproof clear sealant and we put it around the edges of the plugins and the seal of the unit so no water can get into the unit he also uses a toothpick and puts it around the edges of the screen.. iono it works and can still see everything perfectly no water damage so far...
HOPE YOU GET IT RESOLVED IF NOT THATS ALOT OF MONEY down the pipe

I have been waiting 4 months for my HDS8 from Lowrance. Good luck getting one quickly. I am on a long list i guess. Yes, the HDS8 is the most popular model and stays sold out, but it is the most popular model for a reason.
