Every knows about opinions (just like unmentionable anatomy parts), every body has one. But, I must agree that the slip float is the only way to go. I just started using them last year after a trip with Guy. Now it is just like the AMEX card. "Don't leave home without it". I have used it intentionally with the large green trash fish tubes, and have suspended the tubes just off the bottom to catch those nasty fish.

I use both the pretied nail knots and the rubber stops. Both work well. On the pretied, don't pull it too tight or you can damage your line and not be able to adjust it. (trim the ends off) When you shoot docks w/float how deep is your stopper set without it getting caught in the guides of your rod? 18-20 inches?
