Thanks Brian. I've watched a lot of your vids on Youtube and you do a great job of explaining things in a way that even the most green newbie can understand.

I remember when I first became interested in carp fishing, all the lingo and "Brit-isms" really threw me for a loop. In fact, it led to me putting off trying the Euro style until the next season and I continued just free-lining my bread and dough bait for the next year. If I had had videos like the ones you are making I may have made the Euro leap much sooner.

I appreciate the compliment! Any time I have ever done a video I always try to pretend the person watching has never even fished before so it is really explained and shows all of the details and tricks involved to make it work. It is a good feeling as well knowing you helped someone out and they got to enjoy carp fishing a little more than before. Thanks for watching!

I am trying to get into carp, specifically fly-fishing for them on Joe Pool Lake just south of Dallas. I have seen a lot of them rolling on the surface, but I have never targeted them before. My general plan is to just cast a small crayfish or nymph around the grass beds, or chum with corn and cast a small fly that looks like a corn kernel. Does anyone have any other good info I might be able to use, such as active hours, best water temps, seasonal patterns, specific feeding habits, depth ranges, spawning habits, structure that might hold them/how to locate them, etc? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Bryan

Hi,

I'm coming to Texas. I will be there from 6th - 10th May. Staying in Houston and Dallas. Do have access to a car.

Can anyone recommend any guides or companies to take 2 people out fishing for Buffalo?

Thanks

PM sent. Some guides that operate here for Carp and Buffalo are Austin Carp Angler and CarpPro Texas Guide Service.
