7 lbs is tops and he guessed 26 inches which looks kinda overshot to me. i've never seen a 26 inch fish look that small.
26 inch with girth that's all you get
the few bass i've caught over 9 have left no doubt about their weight no matter how you take the pic and were well over 9
this one has no characteristics of an 9+ or for that matter 8+ fish.
but congratulations it is a nice fish

I wish I had a pic of the two 24" fish I caught that each weighed 4lbs a piece. They were caught out of a private pond and were all head.

That's a good healthy fish in the pic. I'd say at least 8.5.

estimate your girth...girth x girth x length / 800 = the fishes weight. You marked the length and had no tape so take you a peice of string and wrap it around the girth and cut it. This way when you get home you can figure it out.

Great fish, my guess is 16 x 16 x 27 /800=8.64, I am guessing at that girth...great fish!!

thanks for all the estimates and comments, next time we'll have the scale there so I can just post the pic with the weight instead of asking for estimates haha.

I caught one with a weight of 11.99999999 or 12lbs. It was
28 1/2" Long. Did not measure the girth of the fish at the time it was caught and now it hangs proudly on my wall. Fish died trying to get it to an aquaruiam but did not make it in time and was bank fishing with no way to keep water on it. Weight was determined by Brookshires certified scales. Same ones they use to weigh your veggies lol. And by the time it was weighed it had for sure lost some.
Very good fish I would say it was 8.5 - 9 pics are decieving.

About 5 lbs fileted out.
