Fellas - can't locate these online at either Academy or Bass Pro. Any suggestions where I can pick a few up in the DFW area or is my information bad?

Academy has them. Brand is not Luhr Jensen. I think it is Tony An... (sp?).

Tony Acetta is the brand you definitely want - the Original!

OK. Thanks. I think I know what they look like and should be able to narrow things down. The brand is Tony Accetta but they are owned by Luhr Jensen, a huge tackle co that makes all sorts of terminal tackle for trolling big water. Thanks much,

A fishing buddy of mine was in the Plano Academy on Central Espressway today looking to buy some pet spoons. They were out of them and said they will on longer stock them. He went to the Academy on Forest Lane and bought the last few that they had. That store said they were not being discontinued in Academy stores. Dont know what the real story is. I know Academy in Plano has not been stocking them regularly this summer and they have been hard to find. May have to order them from the companys website.

Same is true in Houston and East Texas stores. I've asked store managers and they say they can't get them. Fishing Tackle Unlimited, in Houston, which has just about everything, can't get them.
I've ordered some from an online store...will see how that works out.

Bass Pro carries them but they can get picked over pretty quick but you can usually still find what you want. Sometimes you just need to ask someone because they usually have them in the back too. Also, Academy over by I-30 and Cherry Lane on the west side of Fort Worth has them too. I just picked some up there last weekend. They have had them everytime I have been there and needed them. I have also heard Olsen's Sporting Goods off of Jacksboro Hwy and 820 also carries them but I have not been there yet. Good luck.

+1 I've did a lot of trolling last week on some afternoon trips and really did well on the one from Moe's. They have a yellow tail and a piece of holographic tape on them. $2.48 - worked just as well and a lot cheaper than the last ones I bought elsewhere.

I was fishing on Livingston last week and lost my last pet. I tied on the smallest Johnson's sprite I had and started catching stripers. give it a try. When my son was about 5 we were fishing Sam Rayburn. We were catching whites on the Hell/pet combo and he was using a big Johnson sprite on his "snoopy" rod. He caught a BIG white. Bigger than we were catching.

The ones from Moe's are the way to go. I have used the ones from Academy for years. They have gotten a lot more expensive. They have recently started breaking on me too. The rivet that holds the hook on has been put in too tight. I bought some from Moe's and have been very impressed. I think the hologram thing makes them catch more fish. He runs them on sale from time to time. I will never but a Tony Acenta Pet Spoon again.
