Actually, the wind will normally make the fishing better IF the wind is blowing into the bank/cove where you're fishing. The wind will push the baitfish towards the shore or into the cove, and the catfish will follow.

No fish is too good for the grease.

Both coves I was fishing had wind blowing into the shore and I was casting right outside light cover. We got some rain last night, maybe that has something to do with it. Seemed a little cool out, too.

tgravley, makes me feel better someone else wasn't getting bites either! Guess it just wasn't a good night at Westlake Park.

the cubes work pretty well but i like to get a five gallon bucket filled with milo and fill it with water and let it sit in the sun for a couple of weeks and start tossing it out in the area that you fish, if there are cats around it wont take long for them to find it. my favorite night time rig i like to use is the lite bright slip cork, you can get one at academy and replace the batteries whenever you need to. it is the one that is slim so when the fish swims off they don't feel any resistance. i like using the slip cork better than directly on the bottom because when they swim off with it you know it rather than watching your rod tip twitch and trying to decide whether to set the hook or not. i catch alot more fish this way day and night and my favorite baits to use is mr. whiskers punch bait for channels or cut shad for channels and blues.
