so how clear is the water there and is that a shallow flats you are fishing?

yea scott people were out there and basically it was knee deep. like i told jeff .the fish dont have antwhere to go because its a shallow lake .medium stained

i had a nice time too even tho i ended up gouing 820 south on the way home ... instead i wanted to go to 183 . man i really need to get out more often lol

Yeah, it's a pretty Shallow lake, but it does get to 22 feet, so the fish do have a bit of deeper water to go too. Looks like there are four public access areas, I wonder if any of them are near the river channel?

Also, do you guys realize the lake record common carp is only 8lbs? Keep that in mind if you catch a larger fish.

And the lake record Smallmouth Buff is 25lbs, you can probably beat that too. That's like half the fish at GV lol.

yeah, i have pulled a few teenies out of there so far as far as common goes, not alot but a couple, and the buff, well 17 is all i have right now, but it is a fun lake to fish and i cant wait till i have some cooler weather to fish in

You really need to fish Grapevine lol. You'll catch a 25lb buff real fast there, I think. I think more people have caught 20lb+ buffs out of GV then not caught lol.

One summer Donny and Mark had 6 20lb+ buffs in one afternoon.

haha technically yes i could very well be but not yet, think i just might go ahead and get it though lol, going to GL right now to fish the night with my cousin so i can sleep during the day tomorrow and fish all night in the tourny!

All I know is I've seen more 20+ buffs out of GV then anywhere in the metroplex lol. Pretty much everyone I know has broken 20lbs out there many times lol.

noluck tonight, only fished about 2 hrs by scotts landing i think it was, but ill have to give it a go another time when i can spend more time out there but i believe it starless

If you make it to Murrel Park this fall when it cools down, on the north side, I'll hit it with you for a while. There's where I always used to fish it, but there have been just as many or more 20+ buffs from the South Side at Scotts Landing and Meadowmere.
