To all owner fans (like me)....i bought the new 2/0 dropshot hooks with the v instead of regular round curve. I thought it made sense to hold my trickworms in the right spot....well it did but unfortunately when I caught the big gal and got her next to the boat to lip her she came off. I looked at my hook and sure enough the hook broke off right at the v. Bad design...beware. I still love owner and gamas but they didnt test this hook enough and it cost me a fork double digit.

Surprised that a debate did not happen about the merits of mechanically sharpened hooks versus chemically sharpened ones. Flyfishers and carp anglers will choose the chemically sharpened hooks, if they are willing to pay the premium for this type of hook.
Custom knifemakers are on an endless quest for the holy grail of tool steels used for edged tools. Prolly way beyond this discussion about commercial fishing hooks.

I received 4 packs of the TroKar hooks last week. Look and feel very sharp. I'm headed to Mexico next week so that should be a good test.
I did find one of the hooks without an eye so ill be contacting them about that.
