I would like to spend $15 ~ $20 on different kind of lures/baits to try out whites /hybrids fishing, what would you recommend for this time of season? Preferably something that can be found at Academy.

Not from Academy but local to DFW, Fiesta Slabs from moestackleshop.com

At Academy, I think Cotton Cordell spoons work pretty well. Maybe also try Bomber slabs in chartreuse.

Flies-By-Night flies, you can catch two fish at a time, just tie a fly above any slab or mice, and you catch'em for sure, the mice are good for catch doubles on top or suspended. Flies-By-Night.com and finnytribe.com for those mice.

Moes has some good top waters. But I bought a Top Dog from Bass Pro in the salt water section. It has worked pretty good for me when I'm not slabbin! Hope that helps.

Moe's and TNT's are all you need. Also, a method that used to be popular is a "Flies by Night" or two tied behind a popping cork. It is deadly when they are on the surface and the weighted cork enables you to cast long distances. I tried this recently and it still produces.

Go to Walmart or Academy and get you some 3/8 and 1/2 oz CC spoons, you can jig them or rip them through surfacing sandies or hybrids. You will not be disappointed and will be smashing the barbs down to get the fish off faster when you get into that school of fish.

Good luck alota good advice posted on this topic smile

For slabs, click on the TNT Slab pic in my sig, for everything else, click on the Moe's Tackle pic in my sig. The pricing is very reasonable and the products are as good as anything out there.

Moe's should have a topwater out called the Nitro Pop, soon, so keep your eyes open. Good luck to ya and keep those lines wet fish

I agree with Nitro, TNT slabs and Moe's slabs work excellent. Plastics I would go with Moe's all the way. They hold better than anything on the market.

Nothing wrong with any of the advice you have been given, if it were me I would buy several 1 ounce jig heads that are for sassy shad and several bullet type jig heads, 3/8 ounce.
I would buy a pack of chartreuse 4" sassy shad and a pack of 3" curly tailed grubs in white or chartreuse.
If I had any money left over I would buy a 2 ounce Fiesta slab in chartreuse.
Anything after that I would buy a Corona w/lime.

It ain't easy making it look easy.
